1912 Exiles #196 and #197
Sun Sep 29, 2024 1:55 pm
UPDATED THREAD: have added in details of Eps 196 and 197 as we did a very short review of the Salford game too...
In Ep196, Ed is joined by Chris Kirwan of the South Wales Argus to revel in a deserved but unexpected victory at home to Crewe. They touch on Chris' talking points from the game (which are well worth a read) and consider the result in the wider context of a developing squad under a new manager.
In Ep197, Rhys and Ed give a quick ten-minute analysis of the 3-1 win over Salford, and predict consistent inconsistency for the rest of a tumultuous Fourth Division season...
As always we welcome your thoughts via via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn. You can also make a monthly donation to our ko-fi account to help us with the pod's running costs. If you can chip in £2pm, we would hugely appreciate it.
Thanks as always to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme tune, and thank YOU for listening.

Good to hear from Chris Kirwan : I’m happy to subscribe to the Argus for the local sport coverage. Now it’s online, it’s a convenient follow. Quite a change from my youth, not having to wait in Market St for the Football Argus to come hot off the press although of course it was about a day earlier to get the match report. It was obvious though that the reporter always filed his copy with little mention of the 2nd half of the game!

A little clip for you from the latest episode - in this excerpt, Chris Kirwan from the Argus discusses Nelson Jardim's more animated presence on the touchline against Crewe, and what the reasons might be behind it.

Thread updated. We did a very short mini-episode reviewing the fine win against Salford last night, which should see you all through until we bring you some Ian Street match diaries as part of Yorkshire Week.

A final excerpt from Ep197, setting out why the victory over Salford is a good benchmark for how County might do this season.
The pod will be back with Ian Street match diaries from the double-header of "Yorkshire Week" with visits to Bradford and Harrogate.
