Joe Allen in Wales squad
Wed Oct 02, 2024 2:16 pm
So Joe Allen is back out of international retirement and back in the Wales Nations League squad for games v Iceland and Montenegro.
What are people's thoughts on this?
I personally think it's a sensible move. With Ampadu out there's a lack of international experience in midfield, so an 'old head' for 45-60 minutes may be wise. But with Bellamy's new philosophy of playing to get across having an intelligent and vastly experienced player in the ranks to help get the message across can't hurt either.
I understand blooding youngsters in Nation League games should be seen as the ideal option, and there are some very promising youngsters that could be picked instead of Allen, but six points in these forthcoming games should be the aim (particularly with a trip to Turkey ahead) and Allen would possibly help with that...
